Job Description

Play a pivotal role in shaping literacy development for K-12 students as a Reading Specialist in East Bridgewater, MA. This contract opportunity allows you to work with a diverse caseload of approximately 27 students, offering individualized and group support to enhance reading skills across all grade levels. Youll work 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday, within a collaborative educational environment that values expertise and innovation.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Massachusetts Reading Specialist certification
  • Demonstrated experience working with K-12 students in reading intervention or literacy programs
  • Strong understanding of current literacy instruction best practices
  • Outstanding communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
  • Ability to assess reading abilities and tailor instruction based on data-driven insights

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement evidence-based reading interventions for students at varying literacy levels
  • Conduct formal and informal reading assessments to identify students strengths and areas for improvement
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, administrators, and other support staff to integrate reading strategies into broader curricula
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress, preparing reports and recommendations as needed
  • Provide guidance and resources to teachers and families to support literacy growth beyond direct intervention
  • Foster a positive and supportive learning environment that encourages student engagement and achievement
