Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) | Wilmette, IL

2026-2027 School Year

Role Impact: We are looking for a high-energy, patient, and detail-oriented Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to provide 1:1 behavioral support to students in the Chicago area. Working under the close supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), you will be the frontline support in implementing behavior intervention plans that help students develop the social and academic skills necessary to thrive in a classroom setting.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Plan Implementation: Execute Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) programs and behavior intervention plans (BIPs) as designed by the supervising BCBA.

  • Direct Support: Provide consistent 1:1 support to assigned students, focusing on skill acquisition and the reduction of challenging behaviors.

  • Data Collection: Accurately record real-time data on student progress using digital tracking tools to ensure data-driven adjustments to the intervention plan.

  • Modeling & Support: Assist classroom teachers in implementing environmental modifications and reinforcement schedules.

  • Professional Collaboration: Participate in team meetings to discuss student progress and clinical strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Certification: Active RBT Certification from the BACB (Behavior Analyst Certification Board).

  • License: Ability to obtain/maintain an Illinois Paraprofessional License (PEL-S) if required by the specific school site.

  • Experience: Prior experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or developmental disabilities, preferably in a school or clinic setting.

  • Physicality: Ability to remain active and mobile throughout the school day to keep up with student needs.

Position Highlights:

Compensation for this position ranges from $22.00 to $39.25. Eligible candidates may also receive healthcare benefits, housing, and meals/incidentals.
