Job Description

This is a short-term contract opportunity for a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) or Experienced Paraeducator ready to support young learners in a specialized autism program classroom, working closely with a dedicated multidisciplinary team.

Key Qualifications:

  • Active RBT certification or CT Para certification (required)
  • Previous experience supporting children in Autism Program classrooms, ideally with severe cases of ASD
  • Skilled in behavioral intervention strategies and compassionate, patient demeanor
  • Comfortable assisting with daily living needs, such as toileting and diaper changes
  • Experience with 5-6-year-olds strongly preferred
  • Reliable, flexible, and able to commit to a full-time, onsite assignment

Role Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct one-on-one or small-group behavioral support to students with severe ASD
  • Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) under the guidance of certified staff
  • Assist with activities of daily living (including toileting and hygiene support)
  • Employ evidence-based behavior management techniques
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, therapists, and support staff
  • Collect and document data to measure student progress
  • Maintain a safe, nurturing environment that fosters growth and independence
