Job Description

Make a difference in the life of a middle school student as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) in Crown Point, IN. This contract-to-hire opportunity offers the chance to work closely in a supportive school environment, focusing on one-on-one behavioral support for a male student who will benefit from your guidance and expertise.

You'll spend 35 hours per week partnering with teachers and support staff to implement effective behavior management strategies, help facilitate daily routines, and offer personalized interventions designed to foster growth, independence, and success.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Current RBT certification required
  • Experience working in a school setting or with middle school-aged children preferred
  • Strong background in behavior management and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with students, staff, and families
  • Compassionate, patient, and committed to helping students achieve their best

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct 1:1 behavioral support to a middle school student
  • Implement behavior intervention plans and data collection strategies under the supervision of a BCBA or other special education professionals
  • Encourage positive social and academic behaviors through reinforcement and support
  • Collaborate with educational teams and family members to ensure continuity of care
  • Assist the student with daily tasks, including classroom participation and organization
  • Adapt interventions as needed to address evolving behavioral and academic goals
