Job Description

Exciting opportunity to make a difference this summer as a Behavior Specialist supporting an Autism Summer School program near Detroit, MI! This contract role runs from July 7, 2026, to August 6, 2026, and features a consistent, part-time schedule: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 8 am to noon. This unique setting is dedicated to supporting students with autism and varying behavioral needs, offering you the chance to utilize your expertise in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and individualized student support.

Qualifications:

  • Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification, Paraprofessional credentials, or experience as an ABA Therapist
  • Associates degree or higher, or Parapro certification with extensive hands-on experience (mild to severe behaviors)
  • Previous experience working with children or adolescents on the autism spectrum, preferably in a school environment
  • Proven ability to implement behavior intervention plans
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with staff and families

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct support to students during summer programming, following individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs)
  • Utilize ABA principles to assist with positive behavioral changes
  • Collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, and other staff to ensure a supportive learning environment
  • Track and document student progress and behavior throughout the program
  • Assist in classroom management and support educational activities
