Job Description

Looking to make a difference in the lives of students with unique learning needs? An exciting contract opportunity is open for an experienced Special Education Teacher with expertise in behavior support and functional/life skills instruction. Based near Crystal City, TX, this position serves a small caseload of 510 students, each requiring individualized attention and instruction tailored to support their unique goals.

In this rewarding role, youll design and deliver instruction that emphasizes functional academics, communication, independent living, and transition skills according to each students IEP. Collaborate closely with a supportive team of professionals, using your skills as a Registered Behavior Technician or Behavior Specialist to foster positive behavioral outcomes and meaningful progress for every learner.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Valid Texas Special Education Teaching license is required
  • Experience as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), Behavior Specialist, or similar role is preferred
  • Strong understanding of principles of ABA and behavior management
  • Flexibility in working with a varied age group and adapting instruction to diverse learning profiles
  • Committed to individualized programming and IEP implementation

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of approximately 510 students with lower-incidence disabilities
  • Develop and implement functional/life skills curriculum aligned to IEP goals
  • Monitor student progress, adjust interventions, and maintain thorough documentation
  • Communicate consistently with families, staff, and related service providers to support each student's growth
  • Foster a positive, inclusive environment that encourages independence and skill development
