Qualifications and Preferred Experience:
- Valid PTA license (Physical Therapist Assistant) required
- Experience in a school-based or pediatric setting strongly preferred
- Solid understanding of physical therapy principles in both healthcare and educational environments
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with educators, staff, and families
- Demonstrated adaptability to varying caseloads and student needs
- Commitment to fostering inclusive learning environments that support students with diverse physical abilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct physical therapy services as outlined in Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Assist the lead Physical Therapist in evaluating student progress and adjusting treatment plans accordingly
- Collaborate with teachers, other therapists, and school staff to create supportive classroom environments
- Maintain accurate documentation on therapy sessions, progress notes, and outcomes
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary team planning
- Educate staff and families about safe movement practices, exercises, and adaptive strategies
- Ensure compliance with all school district and state health regulations
