Job Description

Make a meaningful impact supporting students and educational staff for the entire 2026-27 school year in a contract position serving local schools. Work closely with educators and students, contributing your specialized expertise as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in a collaborative and rewarding school-based environment. The role follows the school calendar, tentatively beginning on August 4, 2026, and concluding May 27, 2027, with a weekly commitment of 37.5 hours. The specific student caseload will be determined closer to the start of the assignment.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Active state credentialing as a Physical Therapist Assistant in accordance with current regulations for school-based practice
  • Ability to adapt quickly to dynamic caseloads and a variety of student needs
  • Proficient in implementing individualized treatment plans as directed by a supervising Physical Therapist
  • Experience in educational settings preferred, but not required
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, staff, and families

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized and group physical therapy interventions to students, supporting their educational participation and mobility goals
  • Document student progress, maintain accurate records, and assist in preparing updates for IEP meetings
  • Collaborate with classroom staff, teachers, and IEP team members to support students physical development
  • Follow district and state protocols, safeguarding student confidentiality and welfare
