Step into a rewarding role supporting students as a Physical Therapist or Physical Therapy Assistant in a dynamic school-based setting. This full-time contract opportunity runs from August through October as a maternity leave coverage, providing the chance to contribute to student success throughout the upcoming fall semester.
Working five days per week, youll collaborate with a dedicated team to deliver evidence-based physical therapy services within the school community. Your expertise will help students reach their fullest potential, while you benefit from a positive, collaborative environment.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Active Physical Therapist (PT) or Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) license issued by the State of Illinois
- Previous experience in a school setting is highly desired
- Strong understanding of pediatric and school-based therapy interventions
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to develop individualized treatment plans and track student progress consistently
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and assess students functional abilities within the school setting
- Create and implement individualized therapy plans in accordance with IEP goals
- Collaborate closely with teachers, school staff, and families to promote student well-being
- Document sessions, maintain accurate records, and participate in IEP meetings as needed
- Provide support to students with diverse abilities to help them access their educational curriculum
