Job Description
A contract Physical Therapist position is available in a school setting located in Yonkers, NY. This role involves working closely with students to develop and implement individualized physical therapy treatment plans that support their physical development and educational goals. The ideal candidate will have experience in pediatric physical therapy within school environments, demonstrating a strong ability to collaborate with educators, parents, and multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and assess students physical capabilities and needs.
- Design and implement therapeutic interventions tailored to support students functional mobility and participation in school activities.
- Document progress and maintain accurate treatment records in compliance with school and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other related service providers to create supportive educational environments.
- Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and contribute to goal setting and planning.
Qualifications:
- Valid Physical Therapist license in the state of New York.
- Experience providing physical therapy services in a school setting, preferably with pediatric populations.
- Strong understanding of educational and healthcare regulations affecting school-based therapy services.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
