Job Description

Preferred candidates will demonstrate the following qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Physical Therapy
  • Current New Mexico physical therapist license
  • Previous school-based or pediatric experience is highly desirable
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities
  • Adaptability when working with students of varied backgrounds and abilities
  • Dedication to providing compassionate care and promoting student independence

In this engaging role, you will:

  • Assess students gross motor skills and functional mobility to support their educational access
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment and intervention plans
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure coordinated services
  • Document progress and maintain records in compliance with educational standards and policies
  • Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, sharing expertise and recommendations
  • Provide education and resources to school staff, parents, and caregivers as needed
  • Assist with developing accessible environments and adaptive physical education programs
  • Mentor and guide teachers on strategies for student inclusion and participation
