Step into a dynamic educational environment providing essential support as an onsite Physical Therapist for a contract role covering a maternity leave. This opportunity focuses on servicing a diverse K-22 caseload in an engaging and collaborative district setting. The assignment begins May 18, 2026, and continues through June 25, 2026, with consistent weekday hours for optimal work-life balance.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid New York State Physical Therapy license (must be submitted with your resume)
- Previous experience in school-based or pediatric physical therapy is highly desirable
- Strong ability to adapt activities and interventions for students with varying physical needs
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills with students, teachers, and families
- Committed to maintaining documentation and following district protocols
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct therapy services to students from kindergarten through age 22, adapting interventions to individual education plans
- Assess students motor skills and physical needs, designing and implementing targeted therapy goals
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary team members, including educators and related service providers
- Document progress, attend meetings, and prepare required reports as needed
- Provide consultation to staff on physical management strategies to support student learning and participation
This role is Monday through Friday, 35 hours per week, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break each day. For candidates interested in extending their assignment, there may be an opportunity to combine this coverage with an Extended School Year physical therapy need within the district.
