Put your expertise to work in a dynamic school-based setting as a contract Physical Therapist. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students mobility, functional independence, and overall well-being in an educational environment. You'll collaborate with caring educators, families, and other specialists, creating tailored therapy plans that support each student's unique needs.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid Physical Therapist license for the state of Alabama
- Previous experience in a school setting preferred, but not required
- Strong understanding of pediatric therapy techniques and individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Comfortable conducting assessments and developing evidence-based treatment strategies
- Effective communicator who can work well with students, parents, and staff
- Ability to organize caseload, manage documentation, and maintain compliance with state/federal guidelines
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Evaluate students physical abilities and develop goal-oriented therapy plans
- Implement therapy sessions to improve mobility, coordination, and daily living skills
- Collaborate with teachers and families to support student progress within the classroom environment
- Participate in IEP meetings, documenting goals and reporting on outcomes
- Educate staff and caregivers on assistive devices and adaptive techniques
- Maintain accurate records, provide progress updates, and ensure adherence to all school policies and state regulations
