Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Active, valid Physical Therapist license for California
- Background in pediatric or school-based settings is highly valued
- Competence in designing and implementing individualized therapy plans for students with varying physical abilities
- Strong collaboration skills for working effectively with teachers, administrators, and families
- Ability to conduct assessments, provide direct therapy, and document progress according to school and regulatory standards
- Flexibility and adaptability to respond to the unique culture and needs of different school communities
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assess students to determine therapy needs and develop individualized educational plans (IEPs)
- Deliver direct physical therapy to students, utilizing evidence-based methods
- Consult with educators, support staff, and families about strategies and accommodations
- Maintain comprehensive and organized documentation of evaluations, therapy sessions, and student progress
- Support school staff with training and resources to optimize students participation in daily routines
- Participate in interdisciplinary meetings to review student goals and progress
