Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Physical Therapy license in California
- Previous experience in a pediatric or educational setting preferred
- Ability to develop individualized treatment plans and manage a diverse caseload
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with teachers, staff, and families
- Knowledge of IEP process and relevant documentation requirements
- Adaptability, creativity, and a student-centered mindset
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments to determine students' motor needs and functional abilities
- Design and implement evidence-based physical therapy interventions within the school setting
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to development of student goals
- Document progress and maintain required records in compliance with district and state policies
- Educate staff and families on strategies to optimize student mobility and participation in classroom activities
- Work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to promote inclusion and student success
- Adjust therapy approaches as needed to ensure each students continued growth
