Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Physical Therapy
- Active Michigan Physical Therapist license
- Preferred background in school-based or pediatric settings
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to assess, plan, and carry out effective therapy interventions tailored to the unique needs of students in various age groups
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct physical therapy services to students as outlined in their Individualized Education Program (IEP)
- Conduct student assessments and participate in eligibility meetings and IEP development
- Consult with teachers and staff on classroom modifications and strategies
- Maintain detailed documentation of student progress and communicate updates with parents and stakeholders
- Deliver training and support to school staff regarding safe positioning, transfers, and student equipment
- Manage a diverse caseload and adapt therapy approaches to accommodate each student's abilities and challenges
