Qualifications and Skills:
- Current and valid California Physical Therapist license required
- Experience working within school settings or pediatric populations strongly preferred
- Ability to conduct assessments, develop individualized therapy plans, and document progress
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams
- Compassion, patience, and a student-focused approach
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct physical therapy services to students, supporting their motor development and functional mobility
- Perform evaluations and develop treatment plans based on each students Individualized Education Program (IEP)
- Consult with classroom teachers and staff to recommend classroom accommodations and modifications
- Maintain accurate records, progress notes, and participate in IEP meetings
- Educate families on ways to support therapeutic progress at home
- Ensure compliance with state and federal special education regulations
