Qualifications:

• Current licensure as a Physical Therapist in the state of New York
• Experience working with children or in school settings preferred
• Strong understanding of developmentally appropriate practices
• Effective communication skills for collaboration with students, families, and school teams
• Ability to design and implement individual and group therapy sessions
• Adaptability to varied student needs

Responsibilities:

• Assess students to determine therapy needs based on evaluations and IEPs
• Develop and carry out individualized treatment plans
• Provide direct physical therapy services to students to improve mobility, coordination, and participation in school activities
• Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and parents for integrated support
• Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and interventions
• Participate in IEP meetings and provide input into goals and recommendations
• Educate school staff and families on appropriate strategies to support student mobility and safety
