Qualifications:
- Hold a Master's degree in Physical Therapy
- Possess a current Louisiana physical therapist license
- Prior experience in school-based or pediatric settings preferred
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with students, families, and school staff
- Demonstrated flexibility and resourcefulness in adapting therapy approaches to individual student needs
- A commitment to compliance, confidentiality, and evidence-based practice
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate students to determine individualized physical therapy needs and develop personalized treatment plans
- Provide direct therapy sessions that help students improve mobility, coordination, balance, and functional skills
- Work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and other related service professionals
- Maintain accurate documentation, therapy logs, and progress reports in accordance with school policies
- Educate students, families, and staff on exercises, strategies, and equipment to enhance functional independence
- Participate in IEP meetings, contribute expertise during student evaluations, and assist with setting appropriate therapy goals
