Step into the rewarding environment of school-based physical therapy by supporting students in their academic and motor development journeys. This contract opportunity, based near Saint Johns, FL, is designed for a licensed Physical Therapist available to cover a maternity leave for the first 12 weeks of the new school year. The role is full-time (37.5 hours per week) with the possibility of starting early during the extended school year.
Youll work in an itinerant capacity, with assignments at multiple school sites focusing on assessment and intervention for a diverse student population. Your expertise will help ensure that students of varying ages achieve greater independence and success within their educational programs.
Desired Qualifications:
- Active Physical Therapist license issued by the Florida Department of Health (FL DOH)
- Prior experience in a school-based setting is highly preferred
- Availability to complete required fingerprinting (previous prints completed for a FL school district may be valid through the AHCA Clearinghouse; final clearance and a district badge will be needed)
- Strong ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Effective communication and organizational skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver physical therapy services to students in accordance with IEP goals
- Evaluate, develop, and implement individualized treatment plans
- Travel between multiple school locations as assigned
- Work closely with teachers, families, and support staff to foster optimal student outcomes
- Maintain clear, timely documentation of services provided
- Stay current on best practices, adapting interventions as needed
