This itinerant role requires adaptability, as youll travel between sites to deliver essential physical therapy services within school settings. The position is ideal for those experienced in working with California schools, eager to contribute to student growth over the summer while addressing both current caseloads and make-up therapy minutes from previous years.
Key skills and qualifications:
- Valid Physical Therapist license and eligibility to work in California schools
- Prior experience providing physical therapy services in educational settings is required
- Ability to identify and establish caseloads, organize therapy schedules, and manage make-up minutes across multiple school years
- Flexibility and willingness to travel between school sites as needed
- Skills in supervising Physical Therapist Assistants (PTAs) when required
- Bilingual Spanish fluency is preferred, to support diverse student populations
- Strong communication, organization, and record-keeping abilities
- Openness to learning further position details during the interview process
Responsibilities include:
- Assessment and development of individualized therapy plans for students during ESY
- Traveling to designated school sites to provide direct and consultative therapy services
- Tracking and fulfilling therapy minutes, including those outstanding from prior school years (24-26)
- Supervising PTAs as assigned
- Collaborating with educators, staff, and families to best support student goals
- Maintaining thorough and timely documentation
