In this part-time position, you'll be a valued member of the educational community, collaborating with teachers, administrators, and parents to help students reach their goals. Your clinical skills and creativity will support learners with diverse physical challenges, allowing them to actively participate in and enjoy their school experience.
Key Qualifications:
- Current Illinois Physical Therapist (PT) license
- Experience or interest in school-based or pediatric physical therapy strongly preferred
- Understanding of IEP development and goal setting for students in K12
- Compassion, patience, and strong communication skills
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments, develop, and implement individualized treatment plans for students from kindergarten through 12th grade
- Document progress, communicate effectively with school teams and parents, and participate in IEP meetings
- Provide direct therapeutic interventions to meet students gross motor, mobility, and functional needs during the school day
- Collaborate with classroom staff to create an inclusive environment
- Adjust interventions as needed to ensure every students access and success
