Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid certification as a Physical Education Teacher with an endorsement in adaptive physical education
• Experience working within a school setting, particularly with preschool through high school populations
• In-depth understanding of state and federal requirements for adapted physical education, including IEP development and implementation
• Strong communication skills for collaborating with teachers, therapists, administrators, and families
• Creative, patient, and flexible approach to instruction and student engagement

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver adapted physical education lessons tailored to individual student needs and abilities
• Assess students motor skills and physical capabilities; document progress and adjust programs as necessary
• Write and help implement IEP goals related to physical education
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create an inclusive learning environment
• Educate and support classroom teachers in integrating adaptive strategies within regular physical education classes
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with all state, district, and federal policies
