Job Description

Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of K-12 students. This position begins as a part-time assignment in July and transitions into a full-time role for the academic year, offering the chance to support a diverse student population with varying needs across multiple school sites.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid and active Texas Physical Therapy (PT) license required
  • Previous experience working in school-based settings essential
  • Familiarity with providing services to K-12 students
  • Comfortable working with a wide range of disabilities
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and travel within the district for itinerant services

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver physical therapy interventions to students with various disabilities, supporting their access to education
  • Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to develop and implement individualized strategies and support plans
  • Maintain accurate records, progress notes, and documentation in compliance with school and state regulations
  • Participate actively in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions
  • Provide services across multiple schools, primarily in the southern portion of the district
  • Adapt to changing caseloads and schedules based on student needs

Assignment Details:

  • Part-time, July through early August; approximately 40 hours of services between July 13 and August 3
  • Transition to full-time, school-year caseload starting August 3 through May 27, 2027
