Bring your expertise and passion for student care to an impactful contract role making a difference with K-12 learners. Two full-time positions are available for dedicated physical therapists eager to support a diverse student body. Youll work onsite across multiple sites in the Norfolk, VA area, with a consistent schedule of 37.5 hours per week throughout the school year, from August 2026 through May 2027.
This role features an itinerant caseload, providing variety as you collaborate with educators and parents to help children achieve their mobility and functional goals. Enjoy comprehensive mentorship and guidanceevery new therapist is welcomed into a robust mentorship program and assigned a dedicated contact for ongoing support and professional development throughout the year.
Desired Qualifications:
- Hold an active and valid Physical Therapist license in Virginia
- School-based physical therapy experience is preferred, but strong clinical skills and a collaborative approach are essential
- Excellent communication, time management, and adaptability for working across multiple school settings
- Commitment to deliver inclusive, compassionate care for children in K-12
- Familiarity with IEP documentation is helpful, though mentorship and resources will be provided
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative physical therapy services to students across a variety of school settings
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Complete thorough evaluations, maintain accurate documentation, and participate in IEP meetings
- Travel between school sites as part of the itinerant caseload
- Serve as a resource and advocate for students with mobility or physical challenges
