Take your expertise as a Physical Therapist into an educational setting, making a meaningful impact on students physical development and independence! This contract opportunity begins on August 24, 2026, and continues through June 7, 2027. Full-time availability is preferred (37.5 hours/week), but there is flexibility to consider part-time candidates as well.
In this role, youll provide in-person physical therapy services across several schools, supporting students from elementary through transition programs. Your day starts between 7:30 and 8:30 am, with schedules varying based on each school site. Expect to manage a caseload of 35-45 students, delivering both direct therapy and consultative services within self-contained and general education classrooms.
Key Qualifications:
- Licensed Physical Therapist (MPT or DPT) in Illinois
- Experience or strong interest in school-based settings
- Ability to adapt to traveling between multiple school locations throughout the week
- Collaborative approach with educators, paraprofessionals, nurses, and related service providers
- Skilled in case management, documentation, and progress tracking
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough evaluations and design effective, individualized therapy plans
- Deliver physical therapy interventions and monitor student progress
- Provide training and ensure safe use of adaptive/positioning and mobility equipment
- Document daily activities and prepare progress reports and goal updates
- Participate actively in team meetings and IEP processes
