Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid license as a Physical Therapist (PT) in California
- Previous experience working with pediatric and/or school-based populations strongly preferred
- Knowledge of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and special education procedures
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to adapt interventions to diverse student needs and abilities
- Commitment to fostering a supportive, inclusive learning environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to determine students' physical therapy needs
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in accordance with IEP goals
- Provide direct therapy sessions to students in group or one-on-one settings
- Collaborate with classroom staff to integrate therapeutic strategies throughout the school day
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting intervention strategies as needed
- Participate in IEP and staff meetings, sharing professional insights and recommendations
- Educate school personnel and families on exercises and interventions to promote student success
