Job Description

Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution
  • Active New Mexico physical therapist license
  • Previous experience in school-based or pediatric physical therapy preferred

  • Commitment to supporting students of diverse backgrounds and needs

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and assess students physical functioning, motor skills, and needs within the school setting
  • Develop and implement individualized intervention plans to promote student participation and independence
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to maximize outcomes
  • Document assessments, treatment goals, and progress in compliance with school and state guidelines
  • Consult with staff on strategies for classroom modifications and equipment use
  • Provide training and resources to educators and families to facilitate carryover of therapeutic strategies
  • Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary team discussions
