Qualifications & Experience
- Masters degree in Physical Therapy required
- Current New Mexico physical therapist license
- Previous experience working in school-based or pediatric settings preferred
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with educators and parents
- Ability to adapt therapy approaches for children from early elementary to high school
- Commitment to promoting a positive, inclusive learning environment
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for students
- Provide direct physical therapy services and consult with school staff on student needs
- Monitor progress, document outcomes, and adjust support strategies as necessary
- Participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings and contribute to Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Educate and empower staff and families regarding physical therapy best practices
- Ensure compliance with state and federal school-based physical therapy guidelines
