Located in the welcoming Kansas City area, this role offers the chance to collaborate with dedicated educators and support staff in helping students reach their full physical potential.
Key Qualifications:
- Active state license as a Physical Therapist
- Previous experience in a school or pediatric setting preferred
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and families
- Knowledge of IEP/504 processes and documentation
- Compassionate, adaptable, and committed to student success
- Ability to travel between buildings if required
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans tailored to students' needs
- Deliver direct therapy services to students, both individually and in small groups
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education staff, and families to ensure successful integration of therapy into the academic setting
- Maintain accurate and timely records, including progress notes and required reports
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and provide recommendations for accommodations or modifications
- Educate school staff and families about safe mobility, equipment use, and strategies to support student goals
