Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid certification in Physical Education or Adaptive Physical Education
• Licensed or eligible as a Physical Therapist in the state
• Experience working with children who have diverse abilities or special needs
• Solid understanding of adaptive physical education principles, motor skills development, and inclusion strategies
• Strong communication skills for collaborating with teachers, families, and support staff
• Flexibility and creativity in modifying activities for students at different ability levels

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop individualized and small-group adaptive physical education plans based on each students abilities
• Collaborate with IEP teams to create and implement goals measurable in student progress
• Modify lessons, equipment, and activities to ensure full participation and safety
• Evaluate students physical abilities and adjust programming as necessary for continuous improvement
• Monitor and document progress, providing updates at regular intervals to educational teams and parents
• Foster an inclusive, encouraging, and safe classroom environment to motivate all learners
• Assist with professional development for school staff on adaptive and inclusive PE strategies
