Job Description

This full-time, on-site contract role covers maternity leave for the first 12 weeks of the new school year, with the potential to begin earlier during the extended school year. As an itinerant therapist, youll likely serve multiple school campuses, collaborating with administrators and educators to ensure students receive high-quality physical therapy services.

Your expertise will help students thrive, while you experience a rewarding assignment in a dynamic, supportive educational setting.

Qualifications:

  • Active Florida Department of Health Physical Therapy (PT) license required
  • Recent school-based PT experience highly preferred
  • Ability to travel between multiple sites as needed
  • Successful fingerprint background check, with consideration for valid previous prints in the AHCA Clearinghouse
  • Clearance to apply for and obtain the required JLA badge
  • Commitment to supporting diverse student needs throughout the assignment

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct and consultative physical therapy services to students, as specified in Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Assess and document student progress, modifying plans as needed for optimal outcomes
  • Collaborate with teachers, families, and other specialists to promote student independence and participation in academic and functional activities
  • Travel between assigned campuses to deliver services, adapting schedules as caseload needs evolve
  • Maintain detailed records in alignment with school district policies and regulatory standards

This assignment spans approximately 37.5 hours each week, commencing August 10, 2026 and concluding October 30, 2026. There may also be a chance to begin during summer session, pending district confirmation and caseload requirements.
