Job Description

Key Qualifications:

  • Active Virginia Physical Therapist license required
  • Previous experience in a school setting highly preferred
  • Comfort working with a K-12 caseload across multiple schools
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with educators, families, and related service providers
  • Detail-oriented and organized, able to document services in accordance with district requirements
  • Able to work independently while also taking direction within a team
  • Must clear required fingerprints prior to start

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct PT services for K-12 students with a range of developmental, orthopedic, and neurological conditions
  • Assess, develop, and implement individualized therapy plans to support IEP goals and maximize students access and participation at school
  • Consult and collaborate regularly with classroom staff, special education teams, families, and other therapists
  • Monitor progress, maintain detailed documentation, and participate in eligibility and IEP meetings as needed
  • Serve multiple schools within the district as part of an itinerant therapy team
  • Adhere to school policies and procedures
