Enhance the learning experience for students by using your physical therapy skills in a part-time, onsite contract role near Grand Haven, MI. This summer opportunity allows you to make a meaningful impact within a supportive educational environment while maintaining an excellent work-life balance.
In this position, you will serve as a school-based physical therapist for a summer school program, providing services during three half days each week (8 am to 11 am). Your expertise will support students' mobility and participation in school activities, fostering their independence and success.
Qualifications:
- Current, active Michigan Physical Therapist license
- Previous experience in school settings or pediatric-focused physical therapy preferred
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities
- Commitment to delivering services onsite
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate students physical therapy needs and develop treatment plans tailored to their educational goals
- Provide direct interventions to enhance mobility, motor skills, and functional independence within the classroom environment
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to support student participation and progress
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with school policies and legal requirements
- Participate in team meetings to develop and update individualized education plans (IEPs) for eligible students
