Job Description
Make an immediate impact in the lives of students as a dedicated and compassionate physical therapist in a dynamic K-12 school setting. This contract opportunity offers the chance to collaborate with passionate educators and multidisciplinary teams, supporting students growth and independence inside and outside the classroom.
Your expertise will help enable students to participate fully in their education by designing tailored interventions, conducting assessments, and partnering closely with teachers and families. The role provides a steady weekday schedule with 30.5 hours allotted each weekmaking it an ideal balance for professionals seeking consistency and meaningful engagement.
Required Experience and Credentials:
- Active California Physical Therapist License (PT)
- Prior experience in a school-based PT setting strongly preferred, ideally serving K-12 populations
- Knowledge of IEPs (Individualized Education Plans) and the ability to document student progress
- Strong communication skills to interact with staff, students, and parents/guardians
- Collaborative spirit and flexibility to adapt to varying student needs
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized therapy plans to address mobility, gross motor, and functional skills of K-12 students
- Assess students physical abilities and create effective, measurable goals in coordination with IEP teams
- Provide one-on-one and group therapy sessions, adjusting techniques for different learning styles and abilities
- Maintain accurate records, track progress, and participate in student evaluations and IEP meetings
- Educate staff and families on supportive strategies and safe equipment use within the school environment
