In this contract role, youll collaborate with a dedicated team to deliver therapeutic interventions that help each student develop their fullest potential both in and out of the classroom.
This position is based in the Ellicott City and Nottingham, MD areas, offering a steady 35+ hours per week. Your skills will make a meaningful difference for children who are blind, visually impaired, or have additional challenges, empowering them with life skills and greater independence.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Maryland Physical Therapy license (PT)
- Demonstrated experience working in school or pediatric settings
- Comfort supporting students with mild to severe disabilities and a variety of needs
- Familiarity with individualized education plans (IEPs) and collaborative multidisciplinary teams
- Strong communication and documentation abilities
- Compassion, resourcefulness, and adaptability
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and deliver evidence-based PT services for students from pre-K through 12th grade
- Tailor interventions to a spectrum of needs, including autism, cognitive disabilities, and medically fragile conditions
- Maintain clear, detailed progress notes and IEP documentation
- Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to promote student achievement and safety
- Foster motor development, mobility, and functional independence within educational settings
