Step into a rewarding opportunity as a school-based Physical Therapist, supporting students growth and development in a dynamic academic setting near the picturesque beaches of Destin, FL. This contract, spanning the school year from August 11, 2026, to June 1, 2027, offers a part-time schedule of 22.5 hours per week (7.5 hours per day), ideal for balancing professional life with personal pursuits.
In this role, you'll travel between multiple campuses in Niceville, working primarily with elementary-aged students and managing a caseload of approximately 40. Your expertise will directly impact students PK-12, fostering mobility, independence, and greater participation in their educational environment. All services are delivered in-person on site, ensuring hands-on care and collaboration with dedicated educators.
What Youll Bring:
- Masters or Doctorate in Physical Therapy from an accredited program
- Active Physical Therapist license through the Florida Department of Health
- Previous experience in school-based PT settings or a strong interest in working with pediatric populations
- Ability to travel between multiple schools in the Niceville area
- Up-to-date fingerprint clearance (or pending application through the AHCA Clearinghouse)
- Commitment to initiate or update JLA badge process as required
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
What Youll Do:
- Provide assessments, direct therapy, and consultative services to students with diverse physical needs
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in coordination with school teams and families
- Document and report on student progress, maintaining compliance with district and state guidelines
- Serve as a resource for staff on mobility, adaptive equipment, and seating/positioning needs
- Promote student participation and access within the educational setting
