A contract position is available for a Physical Therapist to provide services in a school setting in Commerce City, CO, from ASAP through the end of the school year. This role involves working onsite with a caseload of students in grades K-8, dedicating approximately 1.5 hours per week.
Responsibilities include delivering direct and indirect physical therapy services in accordance with students IEPs or Section 504 plans. The therapist will assess gross motor skills, mobility, strength, balance, coordination, and postural control. Collaboration with teachers, staff, parents, and special education teams is essential to support student participation and inclusion. Additionally, the therapist will develop, implement, and modify therapy interventions, including the use of adaptive equipment and assistive devices. Maintaining thorough documentation, tracking student progress, and actively participating in IEP/504 meetings and school initiatives are key components of the job.
Qualifications for this role include a Masters degree and a Physical Therapist license issued by the states Board of Physical Therapy Examiners. A valid license in the applicable state discipline is required for eligibility.
