Job Description

Step into a rewarding summer opportunity supporting students in a school-based environment. Physical therapists are needed to provide essential services as part of an Extended School Year (ESY) program, as well as infants and toddlers services and assessments. These contract positions offer a focused workload and the chance to make a direct impact within educational settings.

The ESY program runs in person from June 29th to July 30th, Monday through Thursday, with professional development on June 25th. Therapists will be assigned to either special education schools (9:30 am 3:30 pm) or general education schools (8:00 am 2:00 pm), serving students over a five-week period. Alternatively, assist with infants and toddlers services from June 22nd to July 30th, also scheduled Monday through Thursday with no work on Fridays.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid and active Maryland professional licensure as a Physical Therapist (must provide license images)
  • Previous school-based or pediatric experience preferred
  • Ability to complete timely background check, fingerprinting, and employment history review in accordance with House Bill 486
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct physical therapy services, either in the ESY program or through infants and toddlers assessments
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for students
  • Work collaboratively with education staff and families to maximize student outcomes
  • Effectively document sessions and progress notes, following district procedures
  • Attend and participate in required professional development
