This contract opportunity is tailored for an experienced Orientation and Mobility Specialist passionate about fostering independence in K-12 learners. Desired Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Education required; Masters degree in Special Education strongly preferred
• Current Washington State Education Staff Associate (ESA) Certificate, endorsed in Special Education as an Orientation and Mobility Instructor
• Previous experience working within school settings, especially as a Physical Therapist or Orientation and Mobility Specialist, is valued
• A collaborative mindset and excellent communication skills for engaging with multidisciplinary teams, students, and families
• Flexibility and resourcefulness in adapting instruction for a diverse K-12 caseload

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive orientation and mobility evaluations for visually impaired students
• Design and implement individualized travel training and instructional plans
• Teach safe, independent travel techniques indoors and outdoors
• Collaborate with teachers and related service providers to integrate orientation and mobility goals into students educational programs
• Maintain accurate documentation of services, progress, and outcomes
• Provide recommendations and support to classroom staff, families, and administration
