Qualifications and Preferred Experience:

  • Master's degree in Physical Therapy is required
  • Active New Mexico license to practice as a Physical Therapist
  • Previous experience in a school-based or pediatric physical therapy setting is highly valued
  • Ability to adapt to varying student needs across elementary, middle, and high school environments
  • Strong oral and written communication skills for effective collaboration with staff, families, and students
  • Commitment to ongoing professional growth and staying up-to-date with best practices

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver physical therapy services to students per their Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Conduct evaluations and assessments to help determine eligibility and recommend appropriate interventions
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with teachers and other related service providers
  • Monitor and document student progress; adjust treatment approaches as needed to meet educational goals
  • Participate in IEP meetings, providing input on student needs, progress, and recommended strategies
  • Provide training and resources to teachers and staff to support students access to school activities and curricula
