Qualifications and Experience:
- Current licensure as a Physical Therapist in New York State
- Experience or strong interest in working with children and adolescents in educational environments
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to coordinate care plans with staff, students, and families
- Knowledge of IEP development and special education requirements preferred
- Strong organizational and documentation skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for students with physical or developmental challenges
- Provide direct therapy services supporting students mobility, strength, and motor coordination within the school environment
- Collaborate closely with educators, parents, and other school-based professionals to align interventions with educational goals
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation according to school and regulatory guidelines
- Participate in IEP meetings, progress reviews, and student support teams to contribute expertise and recommend appropriate accommodations
- Educate staff and families on techniques and strategies to assist students physical development both at school and at home
