Key Qualifications:

  • Current licensure as a Physical Therapist
  • Experience working in school or pediatric settings preferred

  • Strong communication skills for collaboration with teachers, families, and other specialists
  • Detailed understanding of IEPs (Individualized Education Programs) and the special education process
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and passion for working with diverse children

Responsibilities:

  • Assess students gross motor and mobility capabilities using standardized tools
  • Develop and implement intervention strategies tailored to individual student needs
  • Document progress and maintain compliance with school/district and state requirements
  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to integrate therapy into each student's school experience
  • Educate school staff and families on adaptive equipment, exercises, and strategies to promote student independence
  • Participate in IEP meetings and provide input on physical therapy goals and accommodations
