Job Description

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Valid license or eligibility for licensure as a Physical Therapist in Alabama
  • Previous experience in pediatrics or school-based settings preferred
  • Familiarity with IEPs and knowledge of IDEA/collaborative service delivery
  • Strong communication, assessment, and documentation skills
  • Compassionate, adaptable, and motivated to support diverse learners

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate students to determine motor function and movement needs within the educational environment
  • Develop and implement individualized physical therapy interventions aligned with IEP goals
  • Provide direct and consultative PT services to students within classrooms, gyms, and other campus areas
  • Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and families to support student achievement and functional mobility
  • Document progress and maintain records in accordance with district and regulatory guidelines
  • Attend IEP meetings, contribute professional input, and participate in multi-disciplinary team discussions
