Job Description
Make a meaningful difference in the lives of students as a Physical Therapist in a school setting, supporting learners from pre-K through 12th grade for the current school year. This contract opportunity, located near Bel Air and Nottingham, MD, offers the chance to work hands-on with students facing a range of challenges, including mild to severe disabilities, autism, cognitive disabilities, and complex medical needs.
Your expertise will contribute to a collaborative environment, helping each student build mobility, independence, and confidence. Working 35+ hours per week, youll be a key member of an interdisciplinary team dedicated to providing individualized care and educational support.
Desired Experience and Requirements:
- Valid Maryland Physical Therapy (PT) License required
- Experience or interest in working with children and adolescents in educational settings, including pre-K through 12th grade
- Familiarity with physical therapy interventions for students with a variety of disabilities, including autism, cognitive impairments, and medically fragile conditions
- Ability to collaborate with educators, school staff, and families to create and implement individualized plans
- Strong organizational, communication, and record-keeping skills
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative PT services to students in alignment with IEP goals
- Assess, develop, and implement evidence-based treatment plans tailored to student needs
- Track progress, document services, and participate in case conferences and IEP meetings
- Adapt strategies and supports for a wide range of abilities
- Contribute to a team approach with teachers, therapists, and families
