Step into a contract opportunity supporting students from pre-kindergarten through 12th grade for the current school year in the Nottingham, MD area. As a licensed Physical Therapist, you will collaborate with school staff to provide direct therapy services to students with a range of needs, including mild to severe disabilities such as autism, cognitive challenges, and those who are medically fragile. This role offers over 35 hours per week, ensuring a rewarding schedule working with a diverse student population, including those who are blind or visually impaired.
The position is ideal for professionals passionate about school-based practice and dedicated to enhancing students physical access to education and independence in daily routines.
Qualifications:
- Active Physical Therapist license in Maryland
- Experience in school or pediatric settings strongly preferred
- Ability to address a variety of diagnoses and support students with complex needs
- Comfortable working with interdisciplinary teams
- Willingness to adapt therapeutic approaches for students with visual impairments
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct physical therapy services in accordance with individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Develop therapeutic interventions and document student progress
- Collaborate with teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers
- Provide support and education for staff and families on mobility, positioning, and adaptive techniques
- Contribute to evaluations, re-evaluations, and IEP meetings as needed
