Job Description

Providing specialized physical therapy services for students in a K-8 school setting, this onsite role located in Arvada, CO, offers a contract position from ASAP through the end of the school year. The position requires approximately 1.5 hours per week, focusing on delivering both direct and indirect physical therapy aligned with students Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) or Section 504 plans.

Key responsibilities include assessing students gross motor skills, mobility, strength, balance, coordination, and postural control. The physical therapist collaborates closely with teachers, staff, parents, and special education teams to facilitate student participation and inclusion. This role involves developing, implementing, and refining therapy interventions, including adaptive equipment and assistive devices. Accurate documentation, progress tracking, and active participation in IEP/504 meetings and school initiatives are essential components of the position.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Masters Degree in Physical Therapy
  • Valid Physical Therapist license issued by the NC Board of Physical Therapy Examiners (or relevant state licensure)
  • Experience providing physical therapy services within a school-based setting preferred
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary educational teams
