Step into a rewarding school-based setting by providing crucial therapeutic support to K-8 students. This contract opportunity is situated near the vibrant Northampton, MA area, with a flexible part-time schedule of 18 hours per week for the full 2026-2027 academic year. As a Physical Therapist (PT) or Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA), youll work across two buildings, collaborating with educators and families to support a caseload of 11-15 students.
Qualifications:
- Active Massachusetts Physical Therapist or Physical Therapy Assistant license required
- Prior school experience or interest in working in educational environments
- Strong communication skills for working effectively with students, staff, and parents
- Ability to adapt therapeutic interventions for elementary and middle school-aged children
- Experience developing and implementing individualized treatment plans
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct physical therapy services to students ranging from kindergarten to 8th grade
- Assess students mobility, developmental, and physical needs related to their educational goals
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop, implement, and track progress on Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Educate teachers and caregivers on strategies that enable greater student independence
- Maintain timely documentation of student sessions and progress
- Travel between two school buildings (within close proximity) as needed
- Actively participate in team meetings and professional development
