An opportunity is available for experienced paraprofessionals to support elementary-level students within a public school setting in Providence, RI. This full-time contract position spans the 2025/2026 school year, beginning as soon as possible and concluding on June 16, 2026.
Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized 1:1 and small-group instructional and behavioral support to students, including those with behavioral challenges
- Implement classroom accommodations to support student learning and engagement
- Assist with student transitions throughout the school day and during community-based outings
- Supervise students during bus rides as needed
- Adapt to various roles including classroom-based and dedicated 1:1 support positions
Qualifications:
- Minimum high school diploma or GED
- One of the following is required: Passing ParaPro assessment score of 461 or higher Two years of college credit Associates degree or higher Valid teacher assistant certification from another state
- Completion of, or current enrollment in, a RIDE-approved Teacher Assistant Training Program
- At least one year of experience supporting behavioral students as a Teacher Assistant or Paraprofessional
Location and Hours:
- Providence, Rhode Island
- Full-time, approximately 32.5 hours per week
