We are seeking a dedicated professional to assist in an intensive classroom environment serving students in grades K-3 with various disabilities, including language disorders and autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Key Qualifications:

• Experience as a paraprofessional, particularly in school settings, is preferred.
• Must meet current Rhode Island Department of Education requirements for paraprofessionals.
• Comfortable providing personal care, including toileting and diaper-changing duties.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team of teaching assistants.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with both students and colleagues.
• Flexibility and adaptability to changing classroom needs.

What Youll Do:

• Provide direct support and assistance to children in an intensive elementary classroom under the supervision of certified teachers.
• Work closely with a dedicated group of teaching assistants (TAs) to foster a supportive, inclusive classroom community.
• Assist students with daily academic instruction, behavioral guidance, and social interaction activities.
• Support students individual needs, including personal hygiene tasks such as toileting and diaper changes.
• Encourage student independence and actively participate in classroom management strategies.
• Help implement IEP goals and collaborate in ongoing progress monitoring.

This position is on-site and runs through mid-June 2027, totaling 31.25 hours per week. You'll collaborate with an experienced team and play an important role in the lives of young learners every day.
